Larry Selman was a beloved member of this community. He was a a community activist and a fundraiser with an intellectual disability. This very corner you are standing on was one of Larry’s favorites. The Collector of Bedford Street is an Academy Award® nominated 34 minute documentary about Alice’s neighbor, Larry Selman.

On January 20th, 2013 Larry Selman, The Collector of Bedford Street, passed away at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City. His very big heart stopped. He was 70 years old. Larry devoted his life to collecting money for charity although he lived at the poverty line.
